All the drywall has been hung, it's FINALLY starting to look like I had originally imagined :-)

Final Before Drywall

Well FINALLY ready to drywall.  I spray painted the speaker stands and foam inserts to eliminate vibrations, and put everything back into it's place to make sure it's all working correctly.

It's so dark in those cavities you can't even tell the speakers are in there, or the electronics either for that matter!

Speaker Cavities

Spray painted the built in speaker cavities so that once the felt is put on top, nothing will shine or be viewable.

Raw framing complete

Happy Thanksgiving!  This is the slowest project ever,  but I have to find time to squeeze in some work in between everything else... like today before family comes over :)  I have all the raw framing complete including the built ins for the speakers and the shelving for the units.  Next up will be adding MDM to the top "shelf" to add support and then drywall.

Screen Wall

Well, after a looooooong hiatus, I'm finally back at it.  I've put the screen wall into place on top of floating subfloor.  I still have to build stands in the wall for the speakers, and then drywall the whole thing before putting trimming and speaker screen on the wall.  The side "columns" project about 4" more, so it should give a nice effect once the crown moulding is installed.

Sound System Setup

Speakers installed with receiver. It's ugly but functional. Next up is building a front wall of cabinets to house the front speakers, a cabinet for the receiver and equipment, and install 45 degree crown moulding which will cover the wires.

Theater Chairs and Surround Speakers

I decided to expand the platform to  make room for 3 tiers.  The back will have a sectional couch.  The middle will be theater chairs.  And the floor will be bean bags.

 

And the theater chairs.  Decided to buy them before carpet so that I can use the room :)

 

And I've started to install the speakers.  The surround side and back speakers will be in-wall mounted.  So had to fish all the speaker wire through the walls.

 

Projector and Screen

The projector and screen are up.  Will still have to make adjustments once the furniture is in, but it's functional now :)

Platform Seating Complete

Had some time over the holidays to finish up the platform seating including the baseboard and bullnosing.  This whole area will be carpeted at the end.
