Griswold moment

My framer told me there are 3 major ways to get injured or die on a construction site: 1) Electrocution, 2) Falling, and 3) Something falling on you.

I experienced 2) today by falling right through the freaken drywall under the stairs.  Someone should have told me that they removed the temporary stair treads and not yet installed the Oak treads.  Especially when I'm there when it's pitch dark dropping off materials for the next day!

Tried to step on the tread in the dark and fell right through the damn floor.

And cleaned up a bit...

Drainage

Our property has some challenges when it comes to draining water away from the front of the house.  I spent today packing in soil so it would slope away from the house.  It was originally like this, but had settled causing puddling against the walls.  I also installed a temporary french drain to divert water until we have the landscaping completed which will have to include burying a large drain pipe to move water away.
