After the acclimation period, and then a few day delay due to the snow, hardwood installation has finally begun! Still a bit dusty from all the drywall dust, but looking good so far...

Hardwoods Delivery
That's a hell of a lot of hardwoods! Now that the house is heated, it was delivered and will acclimate for a few days scattered throughout the house before install begins.

Locked in
I installed the rest of the door knobs today, which took much longer than I thought because I had to do more drilling of holes, etc.
Oh, and my house pees :)
This is from the furnace, and it will spit out water once in awhile. I'll actually cut it shorter and attach a pipe downward into the foundation drain later :)

Heat!
We have heat, finally! That means we have gas and conditional power to the house. I took this pic a few minutes after they fired up the furnaces, it's now a steady and cozying 68 degrees :)
Also had to tape up the return filters for now since we don't have the trim out grills until later.
And a regulator on the gas line to convert from 2 psi to 1/2 psi.

Exterior Door Knobs
I installed 1 of 5 door knobs and locks that I'll need to do. This one was the hardest and took by far the longest because they shipped me this door without the holes pre-drilled, so I had to bore my own holes. This is the side door which has a key pad code to open it as well now.

Gas and Electric
We almost have conditional power for the furnaces which will allow us to lay hardwoods. The gas is completely hooked up with the meter now.
And the underground main electric line is buried finally, just waiting for the meter to be set in the next day or so.

The Leak
Well, building a house is not for the faint of heart. We had a couple major rains and had leaking water underneath the drywall. I ended up having to tear up the drywall all the way up to the ceiling to find where it is. I *think* it is fixed now, but time will tell I guess with another rainstorm. And of course, now I have to freaken pay to get this mess fixed...

Misc Work
Today a bunch of miscellaneous stuff was done. The garage door jambs were actually framed too big for standard 9x8 doors, so we had to pack them with 1'' trim all around the jamb. With the trim material we used (small cove), it actually now ended up looking better!
The inside garage door was finally set...
And I cleaned all 4 tubs and the shower PVC of all the drywall, paint and general mess that had accumulated...

First Coat of Paint Done
First coat of interior paint is done. I spent the entire day scraping off spackle and cleaning up the drywall and paint mess off the subfloors.

Electrical Line
In preparation for getting electric run to the house and the meter set, I had to spend 4 hours on New Years day cutting a 10 foot wide path through the trees where they will trench the line. The electric company was out last week with a field engineer which set the white flags I followed.
Metal Roof
The metal roof over the garage is finally done. We still need to do the one over the bay window when the stone is complete...
